Batam Concession Agency Hospital (RSBP Batam) held a Kick-Off Meeting for the Recommendations of Dr. Iskak Tulungagung Regional General Hospital on Tuesday (25/7/2023) at the RSBP Batam Meeting Room.

This activity is held to follow up on the results of the RSBP Batam visit to RSUD Dr. Iskak Tulungagung some time ago in order to improve the quality of medical services.

The Deputy Head of BP Batam, Purwiyanto, said in his speech that through this activity, they will implement recommendations from RSUD Dr. Iskak Tulungagung so that the acceleration of improved medical services at RSBP Batam can be achieved quickly.

“Today's activities are a first step for all of us with the intention of accelerating improvements in the quality of medical services at RSBP Batam,” explained Purwiyanto.

“Last March we visited the Dr. Iskak Tulungagung Regional General Hospital, and today we will be socialising the findings from the recommendations of that hospital to our colleagues here. Therefore, the hope is, of course, that these recommendations can be immediately implemented by doctors, nurses, and management at RSBP Batam,” Purwiyanto continued.

Purwiyanto also stated that currently, more than 100 trillion Indonesian foreign exchange is flowing abroad because Indonesian citizens (WNI) prefer to seek medical treatment outside Indonesia, and that potential income is one of the driving forces for RSBP Batam to continuously improve the quality of its services.

“The President once stated that over 100 trillion rupiah of Indonesia's foreign exchange flows abroad because our people prefer to seek medical treatment overseas,” said Purwiyanto.

“This certainly presents an opportunity for RSBP Batam to divert that foreign exchange to Batam, considering Batam's potential due to its strategic location. We hope RSBP Batam can become one of Batam City's icons with good and affordable services for all Indonesian citizens,” Purwiyanto added.

Purwiyanto also hopes that the implementation process of these recommendations will be successful and that improvements to medical services at RSBP Batam can be felt by the public in the near future.

On another occasion, the Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi, said that improving the health sector is one of his main priorities for the successful development of Batam.

“Public health is of course also a priority for us in realising the New Batam City,” said Rudi.

“RSBP Batam is committed to continuously improving healthcare services in Batam because the success of Batam's development is inseparable from its healthy and prosperous community,” concluded the number one person in Batam. (mi)
