The Batam Authority Body (BP) Batam is holding a series of gatherings and iftar (breaking of the fast) with the Batam community during Ramadan 1447 H. This activity is a means to strengthen relationships and increase good deeds.

Member/Deputy of Administration and Finance, Alexander Zulkarnain, said this moment was also used by his side to foster a spirit of social responsibility and care within the community.

The presence of BP Batam leadership was warmly welcomed. On that occasion, Alexander and his entourage broke their fast together and presented gifts to the surrounding residents.

“This Ramadan gathering is a form of closeness and concern from BP Batam for the community; may it increase our good deeds and bring blessings to us all,” he said after the inaugural gathering at Hidayafullah Mosque, Rusun Batu Ampar, on Tuesday (24/2).

He urged the public to continue supporting the development programmes currently being initiated by BP Batam. BP Batam, he stated, is committed to continuously improving public service quality and ensuring optimal infrastructure development to drive regional investment and economic growth.

“Hopefully, with the synergy and active participation of all elements of society, Batam will become more advanced and prosperous,” he said.

The Head of the Ramadan Committee of BKDI BP Batam, Rully Syah Rizal, added that the gathering activity is a routine agenda for BP Batam every year. This year, he said, there are 10 mosques, 1 prayer room, and 2 Islamic boarding schools that will be visited. According to him, this is a real manifestation of BP Batam's presence within the community.

The series of gatherings includes friendly get-togethers, religious lectures, breaking the fast together, and the presentation of alms to orphans and those in need.

“This activity is carried out so that BP Batam can connect more directly with the community,” he said.

He hopes that through this gathering and breaking of fast together, it can further strengthen the togetherness and synergy between the government and the community in building a more advanced and harmonious Batam. (AP)
