BP Batam re-activated its Liaison Officer in Singapore on Friday (27/2/2026).

This step is taken to strengthen investment diplomacy and encourage the acceleration of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Batam, while also affirming BP Batam's commitment to making Batam a regional execution hub for industrial, logistics, and green economy investment in Southeast Asia.

Gloria Tan's appointment as BP Batam's Liaison Officer in Singapore was signed by BP Batam's Deputy for Investment and Business Development, Fary Francis.

Fary said that the presence of a liaison officer would speed up communication with investors and ensure that investment interests could be immediately realised into concrete projects.

“Batam offers not only incentives, but also certainty and speed of execution. The presence of a Liaison Officer in Singapore will accelerate the transformation of investment interest into project realisation,” said Fary.

He added that strengthening representation in Singapore was also a response to the increasingly integrated dynamics of the regional supply chain, given Batam's position as a production and logistics hub directly connected to the Asia-Pacific market.

Gloria Tan has stated she is ready to strengthen investment connectivity between Singapore and Batam.

According to him, geographical proximity and the existing economic ties are strong assets for increasing the flow of investment.

“Batam has a strategic position within the regional industrial ecosystem. Our job is to ensure Singaporean investors are directly connected with investment opportunities that are ready for execution in Batam,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Deputy Ambassador to Singapore, Thomas Siregar, welcomed the move.

“Strengthening BP Batam's presence in Singapore will solidify Indonesia's economic diplomacy and open up broader investment opportunities for Batam within the regional supply chain,” he concluded. (RUD)
