The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, officially inaugurated three Members/Deputies of BP Batam at the Ali Wardhana Building, Jakarta, Friday (13/6/2026).
The three BP Batam officials are Syarlin Joyo as Member/Deputy of Area Management, Fary Francis as Member/Deputy of Investment, and Denny Tondano as Member/Deputy of Enterprise.
This inauguration is a follow-up to the enactment of Batam Free Trade Zone and Free Port Area Council Regulation Number 1 of 2026 concerning the organisational structure and work procedures of BP Batam. The aim is to strengthen the organisation's governance and improve the effectiveness of implementing strategic policies in area management.
Airlangga, who also serves as the Chairman of the Batam Free Trade Zone Management Body (BP Batam) Board, explained that there have been adjustments to the nomenclature, duties, and functions of three members/deputies within BP Batam.
This adjustment is made to strengthen BP Batam's organisational structure, as well as to encourage investment growth and the management of the Batam area.
“Congratulations to the three newly appointed members/deputies. Maintain integrity and together let's optimise the economic growth and competitiveness of Batam City,” said Airlangga.
In line with Airlangga Hartarto, the Head of BP Batam, Amsakar Achmad, stated that this organisational structure adjustment is expected to enhance coordination effectiveness and accelerate policy-making in developing Batam as a competitive investment area at both regional and global levels.
“We are optimistic that strengthening the organisational structure of BP Batam can drive an improvement in the quality of public services and strengthen Batam's role as one of the main drivers of national economic growth,” said Amsakar.
In addition, Amsakar revealed that this institutional transformation was carried out to encourage BP Batam's governance to be more effective and efficient.
“Let's work to our maximum potential to address Batam's development challenges in facing the dynamics of national and international economic progress,” Amsakar conveyed.
