The Head of BP Batam, Amsakar Achmad, along with the Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, directly reviewed the conditions of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming traffic at Sekupang Domestic Port on Sunday (15/3/2026). This review was carried out to ensure the homecoming traffic services ran optimally.
During the review, Amsakar and Li Claudia also took the opportunity to interact directly with travellers heading to Tanjungbalai Karimun, Buton, Selat Panjang, Bengkalis and Dumai.
The pair greeted and chatted warmly with the public who were waiting for their departure, while also handing over Eid packages as a gesture of care to the travellers. This included the pair also responding quickly to any complaints from the public.
Furthermore, both of them also gave Eid gifts to sanitation workers, taxi drivers, and porters, as a token of appreciation for their dedication in ensuring that services to the public could run smoothly during the Eid homecoming period.
On this occasion, Amsakar Achmad affirmed that he and Li Claudia Chandra will continue to strive to provide the best service to the people of Batam City. This also includes ensuring that the homecoming flow runs smoothly.
Amsakar also hopes that all stakeholders, from operators and regulators to security elements, will serve the public well. Thus, the work carried out will not only be valued as worship in the eyes of God, but also provide benefits to the community.
“I'd like to say that this collaborative energy is a model for co-governance with Madam Li
”Claudia. We want all stakeholders to work together, to move together, in providing the best service for this country we love," stressed Amskar.
On that occasion, Amsakar also advised the public travelling for the homecoming exodus to always maintain their health and safety during the journey.
Furthermore, for ship operators, he advised to continue to pay attention to the safety standards and readiness of the ships used. This is because the public's safety must be prioritised. This includes paying attention to the ship's capacity to ensure it is not exceeded.
“We hope this service will continue to improve over time. So that our brothers and sisters who return to their hometowns will truly feel comfortable and well-served,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, asked all parties to ensure that preparations for Lebaran are carried out thoroughly so that the public can celebrate Eid al-Fitr safely, comfortably, and joyfully.
“The president's instructions are very clear, all parties must prioritise safety on the journey and prepare all aspects thoroughly,” he said.
Also present at the review were Member/Deputy for Enterprise, Denny Tondano, Member/Deputy for Public Services, Ariastuty Sirait, and Director of Port Management, Benny Syahroni. (EI)
