Head of BP Batam, Amsakar Achmad, and Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, went for a ride with the Batam Vespa Community on Saturday (14/3/2026).
This activity is a tangible manifestation of togetherness with the community, as well as a means to synergise and collaborate in realising a more advanced and civilised Batam.
Besides enjoying time with hundreds of Vespa enthusiasts, Amsakar and Li Claudia used the moment to directly inspect the condition of road sections and city parks in several areas of Batam city.
The route starts from KDA, passes through Sudirman Street towards Nagoya and ends at Batam Centre.
Amsakar ensured that the roads were generally in good condition with clear markings, despite some potholes. In response to this, he immediately instructed the Deputy for Infrastructure to carry out repairs and improvements.
“We want to ensure the quality and connectivity of the roads are maintained,” said Amsakar.
He also hoped that through the joint ride and his team's review, the spirit of unity and solidarity would be further fostered for the sustainable development of Batam.
“Let's interpret this joint activity as a manifestation of togetherness, solidarity and a spirit of collaboration for the Batam we love, One Asphalt Greeting!” he exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Li Claudia appreciated the enthusiasm of hundreds of Vespa lovers in Batam during the event. According to her, this shows their spirit, love, and support for the government in building the city of Batam.
“We appreciate the spirit and camaraderie of Vespa lovers; let's build a better and more prosperous Batam together,” he concluded.
Riding with the Vespa Community was also attended by the Kepri Regional Police Chief, Asep Safrudin; Barelang Batam Police Chief, Anggoro Wicaksono; PLN Batam Director, Kwin Fo; a number of Deputies and Echelon II officers from BP Batam. (AP)
