The Head of BP Batam, Amsakar Achmad, along with the Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, directly reviewed passenger services at Batam Centre International Port and Harbour Bay, Tuesday (31/6/2026).

This visit by Amsakar and Li Claudia also ensures optimal immigration services for passengers. Starting from the arrival process to the inspection of travel documents by immigration.

Amsakar explained that the entire process related to the completeness of passenger travel documents plays a vital role in supporting the smooth flow of people at the port. This is especially true when traffic increases (peak season), particularly during school holidays, year-end holidays, or religious holidays.

“We are here to ensure up close how the governance of immigration services is managed at these two ports,” said Amsakar.

It is also committed to continuing to coordinate with the immigration authorities so that there are no more activities or events that could tarnish the management of passenger services at the two ports.

We hope that all obstacles on the ground that could create such potential can be resolved immediately and effectively. Thus, the trust of foreign tourists and investors will continue to increase in Batam's potential as a leading tourist destination in Indonesia.

“I want no more practices that could tarnish Batam's reputation as one of Indonesia's leading tourist destinations,”message from Amsakar.

In agreement with Amsakar, the Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra, stated that this review will also serve as material for evaluation in maximising improvements to service quality at the international port.

Li Claudia does not want illegal practices carried out by irresponsible parties to disrupt the stability and international confidence in Batam.

“We are committed to continuously improving the quality of service at the existing international ports. We have also reminded all officers so that incidents that could damage Batam's reputation as a leading tourist city do not happen again in the future,” said Li Claudia. (DN)
